“The Royal Castle of Gödöllö resembles a symphony orchestra in which each musical instrument actually
embodies a high artistic level itself, but joined together the sound creates the real wonder.”

This exceptional city offers a modern culture quite unlike any other and will delight you with its wide boulevards, historic buildings, magnificent views and thermal baths, serviced by natural hot springs than run beneath the city.
The Budapest festival is ideal for choirs who are looking for amore relaxed choral trip. The festival includes two performances and offers plenty of opportunity to see the city with its many and varied restaurants.
SINGING AT GÖDÖLLÖ CASTLE
The main festival performances are held in Gödöllö Castle the former Summer-Residence of Queen Elisabeth (Sissi). The festival is performed as a Concert Cycle at the grand castle courtyard. Each choir performs a 30 minutes concert. Performance time includes entering and leaving the stage. Your repertoire is your choirs own selection.
The castle, which lies about 30 km to the North East of Budapest, is the largest Baroque Palace in Hungary and is surrounded by 28 hectares of parkland. After your choir's performance, you can enjoy the beauty of the castle and take the opportunity to enjoy coffee & cake at the Palace Café.
On the second day of the festival, choirs perform in one of Budapest's main beautiful churches (up to 4 songs) and will also to enjoy the sights of Budapest on a guided tour of the city including the Matthias Church, the Fishermen's Bastion and the Castle District and the River Danube embankments which are now officially recognised as UNESCOWorld Heritage Sites.
All choirs join together again for the festival closing ceremony which takes place during dinner at a typical Hungarian Csarda where all choirs join together to sing “Ode to Joy” from Beethoven's 9th
During your stay in Budapest, all choirs will have the opportunity to enjoy a dinner on a Danube river boat This dinner cruise lasts approximately two hours and is extremely enjoyable showing you a beautiful panorama view of Budapest while gliding on the River Danube. Budapest Choir Festival
