Often called the Essence of Europe, Belgium is both multicultural and multilingual. Flanders, the name for the northern, Dutch-speaking part of Belgium, is home to the historic cities of Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels and Ghent. It is one of the most dynamic and prosperous regions of Belgium and boats a beautiful coastline and a wealth of artistic and cultural treasures.
Belgium is a friendly and welcoming country with three official languages and a 4th unofficial language in English. The country offers stunning architecture and the quaint cobblestone squares.
On this choral tour, choirs will experience Brussels, Europe's ultimate city. As the headquarters to the EU (European Union) and NATO it is often referred to as The Capital of Europe. It is an international metropolis with a mosaic of languages, cultures, and traditions. The city hosts over 80 museums and some fantastic tourist attractions.
Choirs will also enjoy a sightseeing tour of Brugges and Gent. Over the years the medieval canal city of Bruges has gone by many names: City of Romance, Venice of the North, the City That Time Forgot, and Cultural Capital of Europe (2002). Bruges. Is an enchanting city of stunning beauty and culture. You will explore all the architectural and artistic treasures, folklore, chocolate shops and infamous lace boutiques. Gent is Belgium's third largest and boats numerous museums, beautiful squares, luxurious cafés and fascinating architecture. The cities most visited site is the famous & beautiful polyptych, Adoration of the Mystic Lamb painted by the brothers Jan and Hubert van Eyck in 1432.
