The Magic of Paris - The perfect Choral Destination
On request
Paris proudly boasts a rich cultural heritage and continues to attract leading exponents in all cultural disciplines. There is a certain beauty in French Choral Music, both sacred and secular, which some say began in the Renaissance period with the works of two master composers, Guillaume Dufay and Josquin Des Pres, both among the greatest musicians of their day. Those choirs who enjoy history, culture and art will find Paris the ideal choral destination.Considered to be the most romantic city in the world, the French capital is the hub of culture and sophistication from the celebrated concert halls to the wealth of theatres and museums that are second to none. The architectural splendour of the many palaces and historic buildings which grace this beautiful city will keep you spellbound...Paris is a city that has something for everyone.
Choirs will perform during a church service and will also have the opportunity to meet with a French choir and make long-lasting friendships. Choirs will enjoy an evening boat ride on the river Seine and will have two sightseeing tours;
- Sightseeing tour 1: Marais quarter, the Bastille, Notre-Dame, Quatier Latin, Sorbonne, Pantheon, Ile de la Cité. Get-together with a French choir.
- Sightseeing tour 2: the Opera, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Elysees Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Georges Pompidou Centre where there is an amateur stage for mimes, musicians and street-artists and an opportunity for choirs to perform.
The city has more museums (the world's finest art collections are on display in The Louvre and Orsay Museum), better shops and the better restaurants than many of its European Counterparts. Paris' variety of museums and galleries include; the Musee Carnavalet, the Musee National d'Histoire Naturelle, the Musee National du Moyan Age, the Musee Montmarte, the Musee Picasso, the Musee Rodin, the Musee National d'Art Moderne, the L'orangerie, the Espace Montmarte Salvador Dali and more.
