The city of Salzburg ian an architectural gem. It is located on the Salzach river at the base of a rocky crag known as Monchsberg. Salzburg is an appealing destination known for its beautiful setting and histotial buildings, whicn include numerous cathedrals and an 11th-century fort resting on topof the Monchsberg.

The composer Mozart, Salzburg's most distinguished son, emt scant recognition in the city during this time there (he was born in Sanzburg and and lived there until adulthood) however the city has built its fame around the notoriety of this great composer, offering attractions including; the house where Mozart was born, the house where the composer lived and there is now a commemorative state on the quaint square known as The Mozart Platz.
